Hi all

Yes please.
It’s tried to talk people into using easyPC , as aposed to eagle and failed, the lumpen eagle is much loved in slms
What do people have against this software?
And what does this have going for itself? I see it’s open source, and looks like a bunch of great features, at a very light glance at the website
I would be interested.
Well the reason I use KiCAD as opposed to anything else is because it’s not limited in board size or layers, and it’s properly free and open. If it’s good enough for CERN, it’s good enough for me
Yeah, I couldn’t help noticing the CERN connection!
I’d like to join such a workshop too.
as would I, I started looking at it a while back and got mega confused quickly, but would be keen to learn.
I’d be up for this!
Right. Well. That settles it then!
Will see if I can bring together some of learning materials and maybe do a couple of sessions on electronics nights or something? I’ve got to update my knowledge a bit based on the changes made in the latest version around library management - so probably won’t be until some time in the new year.
If you can’t wait till then, Chris Gamell’s KiCAD tutorials are pretty great:
