Interested in an "Introduction to electronics" course?

This is a great idea! I have loads of relatively simple electronics projects - illuminated signs is one of the things I’m working on (probably arduino driven) Raspberry Pi arcade gaming is another one - that one is well documented but I’d like to expand on the platforms out there to different control schemes.

I did an electronics A-Level about 20 years ago. I’ve done a few bits recently but I could definitely benefit from something like this!

Thanks!

L

I wouldn’t call myself a complete absolute beginner, but I am self taught and probably have a bunch of knowledge gaps in important places so it would be useful I think

Great idea! I’m very interested, no experience.

I’d be very interested in this! I’m an absolute beginner but am keen to work on some simple mains or battery powered lights

Hi all. I now have a co-facilitator! Thanks, Paul. We have met to flesh out the course, and are looking at the starter kit we are going to supply. It looks like there is a strong preference for a single-session course, so we are likely to offer it as a Saturday course, probably running from 9am to 5pm (giving lots of space for practical elements). Look out for a date soon!

I’m interested. Hundreds of Idea not sure which one will win

Somewhat late to this, but also interested!

Same here - interested! Would quite like to hack some outdoor lights so that they can be controlled on timers / from phone

Hi Brendon
Any thoughts on when you think this will be happening please?
Many thanks

I would be interested!

Hi Brendon, just catching up on this topic now.
I am really interested by this course. Have you run it already or is it still in the making? When is the next one?

I may be able to help you with this. I have fixed hundreds of them, valve, transistor and IC, and a lot more especially analogue audio gear besides.
Have you got the pdf of the Jack Darr Guitar Amp handbook, or any of the Ben Duncan articles from the 80s?

Update… The course planning is almost complete.
I have ordered 10 kits which will arrive by 8 June.
I am thinking of running the course 9 to 5 on 21 or 28 June.
Is there any reason to now pick one of those dates (sports etc)?
I’ll publish the booking sheet soon!

I can’t do the 21st but would definitely do the 28th! Thanks for all your hard work, Brandon!

Similarly available on the 28th, but not the 21st!

I’d be interested as well, if there are spaces and time. - Thanks

Hello Brendon,
Are you any closer to firming up on the dates please? I have a potential conflict for the 21st (a week tomorrow) that I will rearrange if your course is going ahead on that day. If you are holding it the following week (28 June) then great, the conflict goes away!!
Please let me know what you are planning.
Many thanks and best wishes

Hi Brendon,
Really hoping this can go ahead on the 21st as I’m unable to reschedule plans on the 28th.
I can see a few people saying they want it to go the other way unfortunately though …. It is what it is!

Excited for it to go ahead either way! Love these courses that are being put on at the space!

Date confirmed! 28 June.
