Humming/ whining audio power amp

Hi
I recently wired up an old Samson power amp to some speakers so I could listen to music in the kitchen.
But it makes an annoying whining noise - consistent when volume is fully up, or fully down.
Is this something that could be easily remedied? THANKS

Heya!

Yes, definitely. Typically with amps, you check/replace all the old capacitors as they become leaky (electrically, and sometimes physically). Then clean and lube all the pots, and adjust the bias (so its not driving the speakers with no sound).

How old is your amp?
