Is that a bit of the apple from the Toolstation box under the bench? Good to see it being used for something creative if so!

Hi Rich,

Actually no. I was walking on the Northdowns last weekend and there where huge piles of this wood just like this. I think they had been copicing the trees for spring.

I found that two small pieces of the wood had found their way into my back pack when I got home.

I’ve heard that unlike most wood workers (people using sheet wood and long planks), turners never have a problem finding bits of wood to turn.

Wish I had taken a photo of the trees now so someone could identify more accurately. But there you go.
