About me: I’m a relative newcomer to this scene. My work’s around maths & programming, and I was never really into all this business about producing physical stuff. Then I bought a Raspberry Pi a few years ago, which led to Arduinos, then robotics, and so on. I’ve been edging into larger projects, and now I’ve got things to build (lighting, machines that draw and talk) that I can’t realistically get together just by working at home.
Although my immediate wins would be 3d printing / laser cutting, over the longer run I’d love to get some kind of competence together on larger-scale techniques in wood/metalworking.
