Hello! I’m George. I’m an occupational therapist and former art and design lecturer. I have a degree in decorative arts (specialising in kiln formed glass, I don’t think you have a kiln though!) and an MA in Textiles. I am very very passionate about arts and craft and mental health, and how making stuff makes us feel better. I have lots of hand made textiles skills (weaving, knitting, felting, sewing), and I want to learn more skills in woodworking, mostly because I want to make a big cat tree for my (very spoiled) indoor cats.

Welcome Georgina,
I think you’ll find lots to like in the maker space. If you fill out the questionnaire that was sent to you then you are on the waiting list.
We have an open evening every second week so feel free to pop down and take a look around and meet a few folks. We also have some evenings that are open to non members such as an electronics night and I believe the textiles evenings are open too. Take a look at the calendar.

Hi George - welcome! I help with the Textiles and Crafts area at the space and would love to see you there soon. We generally run a monthly Crafts/Textiles night and I am sorting the start of the 2023 calendar now. We are always keen on encouraging members to share their knowledge and skills so would love to pick you brains on your skills (we’ve never done a felting night for example!).
