Hi from a hopeful ukulele maker

Hi there, I’m Will, a local musician (ukulele player and singer) who’s recently stopped touring. I’ve played with a band called the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain for nearly thirty years and now I want to learn how to make ukuleles. I came along last night and was overwhelmed by all the great facilities and camaraderie of the makerspace. I heard that some luthiers use the woodworking area - I’m keen to pick up any tips I can. I’m on the waiting list but raring to go - can anyone advise on how long the wait might be? Thanks again for the tour… Cheers, Will

Forgot to mention that some years ago I made wooden automata for a couple of years - I’m quite handy with fiddly wooden things and very happy to share knowledge…

We have a (probably outdated) list of @luthiers, but maybe some are active… definitely some instruments been made in the past, have a browse of the Projects category for ideas…
