Help with some routing w template?

Hey folks

I’m looking to do a cutout pocket in some wood for a clock I’m making - would anyone be able to show me how to do this?

I would like a square pocket w round corners but am not sure how to do this - or what size template to make etc. The final one will be in walnut but I’d like to do it in scrap wood first so I can do some tests.

Thanks very much @woodtechs - I am free anytime this week, ideally daytime would be great.

It depends on the router bit. I think a straight cut bit with bearing will make an exact copy of the jig/template. You could probably laser cut the template

Top guide cutter should make quick work of it

Get the bulk out with a drill and chisel and finish off with router
