Hi all, I’m Duncan. I visited the space last Wednesday and was kindly shown around by Sam. It looks like a great setup and I’m looking forward to getting my hands dirty making stuff. Probably mostly out of wood, but it looks like this place may have a good setup for learning new skills as well as practicing existing one.
The first project I have in mind is a set of sort of ornamental paperweight… things, for some of my friends to commemorate a tabletop RPG we’ve been playing since 2012 that will be wrapping up in the not-too-distant future. Hopefully simple enough to attempt with my somewhat rudimentary woodworking skills. And I’ll need to dredge up from my memory the various times int he past few years I’ve thought “damn, I wish I had a laser cutter, so I could make ___”.
