Any members worked with bull horn before? Curious how it takes tools.

I believe it’s the first SLMS use of “bullhorn” tag!

I knew a guy who worked with buffalo horn, assuming very similar, not sure how he found using it but I know he just tooled it like you might hard wood, the only difference is the smell - he’d take some down on a belt sander and it released a very pungent smell…!

Horns are bone but surrounded in a sheath of keratin, which is the same protein that makes up hair. I would imagine it would therefore smell like burnt hair if sanded.

If there’s some available I’d buy a couple bits

They are selling it for £20 for 1 kg, horns are between 5-8cm, black.

They also do white ones, same price, slightly bigger horns.
