I thought it used to show you the latest stuff, but if you had read it already it didn’t show in the list.
I liked that feature.
Latest shows you all topics, sorted by most recent post. If you’ve read everything in a topic, the title is grey. If there’s unread posts, the title is black.

Unread does what you are asking.
Unread only shows you the topics that you’ve previously postde on or read a lot

i think lastest used to show lastest unread.
It now shows all latest.

Sorry Tom you are mistaken. Unread shows you “topics you are currently watching or tracking with unread posts”. New topics, or topics you are not watching/tracking are not included.
Nothing has changed. Latest, Unread and New all behave exactly as they did last week last month and last year.
I use unread all the time, it shows all posts that are new or have new replies.
But is different in that
A. You don’t get tracking on just the stuff you are "following"
B. Only shows you only latest stuff if you have read everything
It really doesn’t.
Your unread topics appear here.
By default, topics are considered unread and will show unread counts 1 if you:
Created the topic
Replied to the topic
Read the topic for more than 4 minutes
Or if you have explicitly set the topic to Tracked or Watched via the notification control at the bottom of each topic.
We can test this if you like.

I am guessing you’ve not changed the settings of your account.
There’s a preference that automatically sets all new topics to Tracked?

I just see when there is a change, red dot, and I unsubscribe from the stuff I am not interested in:
