Wow. Love the way that turned out. Especially the rounded finish of the insert tray. Unrecognisable from when I saw it last. All that sanding certainly paid off. Glad it went down well.
thanks. I ended up using the plane to chamfer/shape the edges for a more hand made look.
Also… the japanese lettering is inlayed veneer. I was going to use the laser to cut the recess but Obeche wood just turns to charcoal under the laser to had to hand cut!
