First Meeting: Thursday, 4th May 2017 at 20:00

This working group aims to explore the effects (positive, negative and neutral) of membership growth on Makerspace. We want to avoid making any decisions based on gut feeling and instead provide a solid evidence base.

If you would like to join the group, please PM @gwg or just come to the first meeting

Scope

To explore how the growth of membership affects the organisation and it’s members, specifically:

  • Income and expenses
  • Human resource contention
  • Physical resource contention
  • Social cohesion

Expected Outcomes

  • Membership census (with view to be able to repeat in future if desirable)
  • Range of forecasted financial scenarios for long-term planning
  • Identify resource contention issues and recommend solutions
  • Provide case studies of similar organisations’ experiences with growth
  • Collective summary of the state of the space

229 members as of right now, when we started this we were at 220.

Seems like this needs to be rescheduled, when can folks do next week:

  • Sunday Morning
  • Sunday Afternoon
  • Monday Evening
  • Tuesday Evening
  • Friday Evening

I’ve excluded Wednesday as it doesn’t seem appropriate during open evening, and Thursday because I’m busy
