Hey folks, just a general request for ideas here, as I’ve got a vague idea and am not 100% sure how to execute. Basically, I’ve got a few ideas for UV-reactive cocktails I’d like to make for an upcoming costume party, and I’d like to have UV lights embedded into the serving bottle and/or glasses, if at all possible.

Anyone got an idea of what the best approach would be? What strength of led light would I need, for example? For the cups, I was thinking of getting cheapish plastic ones, pairing them up, with an led and a battery inside the bottom cup, switch exposed, second cup on top of that for the drink, or something along those lines.

For the bottle, I could probably just buy one of those gimmicky “self cleaning” UV water bottles, and it’d probably fit the vibe… but I might print some kind of frame I could hide some LEDs and a switch in, instead.

All thoughts welcome!

Love this idea!!

Not sure if you can get UV ones, but have you thought about wireless LEDs? Stick them near an induction coil and they power inductively. Could be a simpler way of getting them into your cup, no switch required.

This kinda thing: [Large Inductive Wireless LEDs - 10 Pack - The Pi Hut](https://thepihut.com/products/large-inductive-wireless-leds-10-pack)

Then you could conceal the coil in a “coaster” and the light comes on =\> drink changes colour when you place the cup nearby.
(Bonus: they only work when facing the right direction - but assuming the cup has liquid in it you can line them up!)

I missed the boat on this in the end (also missed the party for reasons =T) but will bear this in mind for when I inevitably try again!
