Arthur has said we’re welcome to have a go at fixing this issue…we can even send an invoice in.
Our floodlight clearly has an exploded lamp in it…others have been out of order since we took up residence.

Maybe Saturday during the day?
Last time they had a scaffold tower from the builders
I remember… and the lights still didn’t work…
Fixing or replacing? Has to be LEDs for longevity, right?
I can be around tomorrow to have a look if you’re game?
It’s a good point. Yes, needs to be a more sustainable solution.
I wonder if led lights in a festoon might be better as it would give the right kind of light…
All the way along the path and with multiple redundant bulbs.
Anyone know how much replacement bulbs cost for the existing fittings?
Halogens are pretty cheap… perhaps best to get up there and check what we’re changing
You can get led lamps that fit halogen sockets
Yes, but pretty pricey…I’m assuming the existing ones are 1kW or so…
They are sodium lamps , the one old technology that is almost as good as led , or at least better than anything other than led
In my opinion replacing the fittings would be nuts .
Sodium is not bad
My best guess as to what is in them
Or
It looked - from the ground - like a double ended fitting, halogen-style. Will get a bit closer
I will eat my hat if it’s not sodium
High and low pressure sodium comes in single and double ended
looks promising!
I seem to remember that it is high pressure sodium
The issue is the lights don’t last long.
