It’s two year since we first held the keys to the Pop-up Makerspace in Norwood Road (the place beside Costcutter that’s now a kids playcentre, still decorated in SLMS colours!)…

There’d been a lot of talk, and fun meetups, but that marks the point when the Makerspace first became a physical reality…or a kind of voluntary hard-labour scheme, depending on your view?

So what better way to celebrate than to do a bit of Make the Space.

There’s a floor to get prepped for oiling, glazing units to fit. And Phase 1 to pull back in order ready to welcome the public in on Saturday at 2pm.

Anyone got a nail punch handy?

Well, there is a push this week.

Maybe next week? No matter what? Otherwise the ‘Make the Space Juggernaut’ rolls over all…

I’ll be there later - @joeatkin2 and I are going to hit the wet area for the remaining Electrics.
Lights first and then the remainder of the sockets and control wiring !

I think clearing Clean and getting Messy ready for saturday are more immediate priorities

That’s my main reason for keeping out of the electrics on this stage: I’d have to get my head around a bunch of stuff that others already know!

So we need from Screwfix:

  • 1mm2 T&E? How much?

  • small junction box

  • ‘kopex’ 20mm, how much?

Anything else?

I don’t need 1mm t&e for the lights unless it’s for something else.
Kopex 1xpack and 12x the end pieces

Will be their fairly eailry (for me) and will crack on, @joeatkin2, hopefully will have a lot of it done by the time you get there, lol

The cladding on the glazed window into the messy workshop is complete also.

The floor got fine tuned to get a level access between phase 1 and the messy workshop.
