How are you getting there? Would love to go but seems a bit far 
We’re coming back from a wedding in Cambridge that day, via Shenfield to pick up our son from his grandparents, so my plan is to drive there and back from Shenfield. Although I haven’t yet discussed this with my husband and I’m not sure how realistic it is timing-wise. I really want to go though! I’ve been following Anne of All Trades on Instagram for a couple of years and she’s coming from Seattle to go to this and I’d love to meet her. It does seem to be in the middle of nowhere though.
Actually looking at it again, I might see if my husband can drop me off there on the way back from Cambridge and then I get a taxi and train home and then I could stay for longer. If I do end up driving from Shenfield I could give you a lift from there but that might be a bit late in the day by the time we’ve recovered from wedding-related hangovers enough to get going.

I think it is probably a bit far at a bit too short notice for me to make it 
Maybe I’ll make better plans for next year and do it then 
(I also want to go to Yandles next year too)

I know, it’s annoyingly inconvenient for public transport. On her Instagram Anne of All Trades said she’s going to a woodworking show in London, at which point I got very excited, but of course what counts as London when travelling from the far side of the US is not quite the same as what a Londoner counts as London!

There’s also the Bodger’s Ball in the spring.
And I heard the Festival of the Tree at the national arboretum…near bath…which involves woodwoordking
This one only happens every other year.
Yandles is twice yearly in Devon. I was planning to coordinate it with a visit to a friend in Bristol

Bentley Wood Fair is this weekend too, at the Bentley Wildfowl Trust.
How was it?
It was good. Probably not worth a five hour round trip but I’m glad we stopped in on the way home. Lots of inspiring beautiful things to see, including some truly stunning big planks of bog oak and an exhibition about this bog oak project:

What happened to the boards? Did they end up.as furniture or on display anywhere?
I think the plan was to make them into a giant table but it hasn’t happened yet - not sure why but I’m curious.
I wish I’d asked them more questions at the show. Their Facebook page doesn’t look like it’s been updated much but their twitter account is more active.
