Extractor fan above Eufy (formerly resin printer)

Hello,

We’ve just shut off the extractor fan above the Eufy (and also closed the gate in the pipe.) Does it want to be running still? Do Eufy-users need to know to turn it on?

Dave

HI Davel,

Thanks for doing so. There was a recent incident couple weeks ago which was still causing some fumes. I finished clearing the area today and fully scrapped down a washed any resin residue from the desk. I had to use a good amount of iso in the process so I left the vent on to clear the air.

I will follow up on the other post about the resin printer. For now the eufy will stay there until the end of the sponsorship period.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT POWER OFF THE EUFYMAKE E1 PRINTER

Thanks,

Sam

I do also recommend an enclosure if at all possible as well as a minimal exhausting, eg a decent usb pc type fan (low power draw) should be sufficient to exhaust any enclosure fumes (VOCs), so long as there is no back draft.

This is even when in small bed and closed mode overnight.

During the training the fumes from the Eufymaker were noticeable and not pleasant. We certainly want them extracted, not just blown around.

This is in hand. Planning to have the main fan extraction system hooked up soon. We may be able to have this on a regular schedule with a power on overide when the printer is in use via the tool control

@davidN do you think it’s possible to add a schedule into the fan control? All the attempt to do it electromechanical only may have gone out the window.

@scday94 - would all of these things need to happen on the schedule?

  • the flap above the hood opens
  • the hood turns on
  • the box that is by the mini cnc / screen printing is turned on and up to full

2 & 3 could be done fairly easily I think… I’ve spent quite a bit of time on 1 as you know and still not finished . I’ll be about this Friday to discuss more.

I wont be in Friday I’m afraid, moving house. Yes ideally it all happens, lets say onece every hour for 5 mins. then if someone is tapped in, It will be on continuously. We will re-use the resin tool control node. within that update can we ge the printer to be permanently powered on via the breakout box? gives people less opportunity to power off the printer. tool contorl can then be used for the extraction hood control so we have a use log.

If needed, we could lock build plates into a tool control accessed cabinet as we can’t use system power as a lockout mechanism

I think this is the best idea!

Or even better if we build a “hood” of some sort for the extraction, may as well make it in a big “cabinet” style thing, that is locked with tool control.

yeah, in time. Thats more needed if and when resin comes back. If someone wants to build a bespoke cabinet for all the accessory storage, let me know. We can use the mounting cleat system the printer uses for giving them all their own home to reduce possible damage. @Minhraju mentioned some custom plates stls (A heads up Im not allowing custom plates on this machine until they are tested with a tech) We can use these as reference models.
