Hi @electrotechs
Wondering if you can help with this problem. My sister’s bloke has a ps4 console out of warranty and the USB ports aren’t functioning. They aren’t recognising anything so he can’t connect the controllers. (One is functioning by bluetooth connection but the second cannot be reconnected this way). Could possibly be a loose connection but I really don’t know anything about it. Do you thinking is something that is fixable. Maybe worth bringing down on a Thursday night?
The PS4 have 2 ports on the back, he can use these if he wants .
If he wanted it repaired, is another story, the front port are usb 3.0 , probably smd , not the nicest thing in the world to pull from a working ps4 , something can deftly go wrong.
There is the console itself to disassemble, we have the tools, it needs time (around 2/3 hours possibly?) and the replacement parts.
I’m not really confident to go for something like this, if someone want to do it there is a good chance to repair it…
Thanks for the reply. I can’t find the usb ports on the back. This is what I am seeing. Am I being an idiot?
No, you are right , my fault
