Easy Vinyl Cutting

I have created a RasPi server to attach to the vinyl cutter so folks can cut over the network without installing any drivers.

It works! Thanks @asander1 for loaning hardware and @platinumnqueen22 for putting up with annoying cutter clatter.

When using the vinyl cutter today I couldn’t get http://slmsvinyl.ddns.net/ loading at all. I’ve used it in the past without issue but it’s been a long time since I last tried.
I took off the bottom of the cutter and could see that the Pi Zero was correctly lighting up when the power to the cutter was turned on. That’s as far as my debugging could go. I’m not sure if it’s a problem with the PI or the ddns service. I can’t access the router to see if the Pi is connecting.

The vinyl cutter is still working fine though. I connected via USB cable and sent the commands via serial.

@kyle any ideas?

There was a problem with the dynamic DNS service we were using. We still can’t reconfigure our internal router so I have created a public A record for http://vinyl.space.southlondonmakerspace.org and configured the pi to use an static IP. I have tested it and its working!
