Drinking water

A side issue: drinking water. The mains water :should’ be good to drink but is getting heated due to the long run on the outside of the wall. Also we can’t be sure that other arches have proper anti-syphon measures in place…in fact you can bet they don’t. So: drink at your own risk?

Bottled water is one of the maddest of modern inventions IMHO…so what’s the answer?

Why don’t we hook up the other pipe as that seems likely to be safe?

I wondered about that…and I recall it got capped off without a valve. Which was a bit of a fail. Just a detail that got missed in the rush of work on the floor.

At least the other supply isn’t getting warmed up every day.

I’ll look into the this. It maybe that the risk from water syphoning back into mains pipes is not significant?

We could have a filter

What does it filter?

general bad stuff and low levels of metal. Don’t know if it does high level of contamination. Something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/BRITA-WD3030-Talori-Chrome-Plated/dp/B008MYP4ZM/ref=sr_1_7?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1437751524&sr=1-7&keywords=brita+water+filter

It’s also just really hot as well, not nice to drink…
