There used to be a small heater in phase 1 and we can’t find it. Any suggestions where to look?
I’ve seen a few in the back right in the corner on the floor behind the last shelves
Great thank you. I found three that don’t work and then the one that does!
Does anyone have any objections to getting rid of the three heaters that don’t work? I’m happy to take then to the tip next time I go.
keep the Co2 handy
Are they actually broken or do they just need new fuses?
Depends why they don’t work. Most electrical gear that gets dumped needs only minor repairs
They do work. but the fuses were taken out so people didn’t go plugging in hundreds of watts of heat into extension leads.
I don’t see the point of having stuff here that’s not usable, whatever the reason is. One has a sign sellotaped to it that only says please do not use & it’s taking up a whole shelf in the snug. That seems dysfunctional to me. But anyway, I can see this is a can of worms and that the time to sort everything out is after construction is finished and not during. I was just trying to be proactive and purge stuff but will leave it alone for now!
We should hold on to them off they work, we really don’t know what will happen to the temperature in the arch. It’s likely to get cold, and from the sound of it you needed a heater on today?
EDIT: when the makerspace was run on extension leads they kept getting blown by heaters.
Temperature in the space has been holding steady at 15-16C for a while now. Humidity’s up to 70-80% though, which is too high.
Humidity is going to rocket a tad with the block work mortar
We could but sacks of rice down for Burt
Perhaps if you want to put fuses in the ones that are not broken, then otherwise take them to the electrical recycling on Railton Road.
Kind Regards
Tom Lynch
Why would you recycle/dump working items?
Is there something I’m missing here?
I said put them in recycling if the fuses don’t work.
