DIY Laser Machine!

This ain’t a Trotec, but for how little money I spent on it, it seems to work reasonably well:

It’s built with salvaged 3D printer components and some printed parts, an Arduino and the CNC Shield, and a suspiciously cheap “5500mW” laser from eBay (so more likely 2W). Cuts paper and can burn off paint from metal, sometimes. It could in cut opaque plastics but it’s very slow at it requiring multiple passes. I’ve not tried wood yet because the air assist system here is a USB fan standing next to it.
