I need to order some of this for anodising, and need a fair bit (over 10L) and have it delivered to the space. Is this ok (will go in buckets already in the coshh cabinet) and is there any need for some for other uses like pcb etching ?
Hi @Barnaby_Coote,
I think most of the FeCl3 we have is ready mixed so don’t need it directly for the etchant.
If there is spare i’m sure it would make a great wash for the PCB’s or as a base for the Ultrasound tank solutions as it will be de-mineralised too.

Useful stuff to have. No objection here
Yes, would be handy for use with the ultrasonic cleaner I recently donated
(maybe a note on the cleaner saying where the distilled water is kept might not be a bad idea)
Is there any value in looking at getting a water distilling device? Couple hundred quid at the most for something pretty entry level.
No idea we had this ! Thanks for bringing it down i’ll take a look
@peter_hellyer not sure if we’ll need enough to justify that sort of equiment
25L comes in at around 1,3 quid a liter and should be enough for a while. The anodising solution will be good for years
