But the graphics card haven’t been fixed?

It will fail when the GPU is put under heavy load.

There are some reports of home repairs, replacing the thermal paste, baking it in an oven (srs. my brother rescued a dead gfx card this way)

A new card costs ~£400

If thats the case it will fail unless repaired.

It’s not clear if it’s a heat issue or a chip manufacturing defect.

not actually sure this has ever been tested! there was no software on the iMac, nor any files.

this particular model was on a recall …but only if there was a fault.

apple tested each one that came back and if there was no fault they could find the card was not replaced.

I don’t know the history of this particular unit has anyone actually tried it and had the fault occur? or did we just see that this particular model was on the recall list and assume it was faulty?

I have put the graphics card through 2 torture tests furmark and benchmark valley.

temperature got up to 90C but ran without hitch
