Course: Ruby Laser Control Software

This is NOT a laser induction.

Ruby is the laser control software for our Trotec laser cutters.
If you were inducted on Job Control (the old software) then this course will get you up to speed on Ruby.
If you were inducted on Ruby, then this course will be a refresher and take you a bit deeper into the use of the software.

  • Date: 20 May
  • Time: 18:30 to 21:30
  • Cost: Obligatory donation (you have to donate something, but the amount is up to you)
  • Who can attend: The course is open to all members
  • Pre-requisites: None
  • What to bring: We will be using the makerspace laptops, so no need to bring your own.

Hi. If you mean for the course, yes, sure!
If you really do mean the induction to allow you to use the laser, you’ll need to add your name to the waiting list here.

Just nudging this back onto the home page to see if there are others who are interested.

I’m interested but haven’t been inducted on the laser yet - does it make sense to come to this before being inducted on the machine? I’m working on CNCing at the moment and I found the inkscape course really useful so it’s all related but I wanted to ask your opinion?

It makes sense to get inducted first.
At that point, you may well decide that you don’t need the Ruby course!
