Cool project(s) actually 2

Browsing I found that video on how to make pencil :grinning: and thought that is a cool project. Watching the video I saw that indirect product placement for the Micro Jig  and followed the link to amazon but over £100 :unamused: no way we could totally 3D model one and 3D print it ourself. Who fancy it? or we can buy it :disappointed:

The table saw has no guard, I don’t think we’ll be allowing that?

I don’t see why this method can’t be used with the guard in place? You just can’t use the fancy jig-thing they’re selling.

I don’t see the problem, the micro jig is just a fancy pushstick! That project is totally doable with our saw with the guard in place thanks to the sliding table!

Sorry guys was not advocating using the table saw without a guard protection, just trying to generate interest in woodworking project let forget about the Jig really as Stefano say a push stick did always work for me in past.

But as we are on the subject: in the past (I know it was long time ago) a fixed guard to the splitter is really restrictive and in real world situation those end up being removed from tablesaw for that specific reason.

An moveable guard above the blade and splitter is much friendlier options especially when the splitter design on our tablesaw allow us to do groove cut (one of a primordial feature a tablesaw allow you to do without going to a routing table that might be not practical in certain case).

I’m not saying let’s do one or the other just sharing up idea

Apologies for sidetracking the thread.
