Beginners guide to using power tools safely

sorry guys I didn’t realise I had already created this post. Couldn’t upload the document as its too big. Will try again.

I assume this is our template for power tools?

Yeah it’s the default template when you start a topic in Tools

Side issue,
I know a young lad who i suspect is very dislesic and fell through the net at school and can nether read or write but is good with his hands and has failed severa laprenisips because reading and form filling in is a important part of tool use in 2015 , so his only option was to turn to a life less legitimate.

Maybe part of a makespaces reamit could be to figure out how to make stuff without paperwork.

It’s not a problem to me , just anoing , but if i had not received alot of help at school i am pretty sure that iin 2015 i also would have to erne my living in a non ligitamt way

It’s a good point. And something we can take into account.

That shouldn’t be difficult. Inductions are verbal and hands on. Basic tool safety and procedure can be conveyed with simple images. Once you’ve done it a few times it’s second nature. Plus when we’be for inductions down pat were can put them on YouTube as a refresher.

I think members are already linking useful videos.

EDIT: I was intending this to be about being aware that we have dyslexic members, rather than for people who can’t read or write at all.

I don’t think our members will have a problem, but it would be a good thing if we provide it was possible just to make the world a better place

Guys do you know how to switch on power to the power tool sockets? I’m here an can’t figure it out!

The small ‘fuse box’ above the main fuse box in phase one controls most power and lights in the back… UP is on, but the unit is on its side. So, in this case, LEFT is on.
