Spotted that Instructable with lot of relevant info when using a bandsaw. Just thought it will be a good place to drop some general info about the Band saw use and some useful tips.

Has anyone ever used the bandsaw yet? I would like to mske some cuts on it, but haven’t been inducted. Yet I have seen the bandsaw out a few times, so wondered if it was being used already. I imagined it is, and that people have simply skipped the induction.
I am comfortable using the machine without guidance, but also agree it’s right to go through the process so wondered if there was some person who might volunteer to run a session?
Yes, it’s out, and has been used by a couple of (already skilled) people. Running well, AFAIK.
While we don’t have a formal wood workshop, formal inductions haven’t been happening, so yeah it’s all rather informal. The notes in the wiki article are enough for a skilled person to run an induction for you.
Thanks, In the end I did the cuts on my table saw but it’s good to know it’s ok to go ahead and use the bandsaw.
