It’ll be a short post this time I promise, I didn’t take many pictures as I went through. Here it is on the wall doing what it was meant to do:
And here’s the only good progress pic I have:
I used some scraps of sapele (?) and ash I had and flattened the boards on the planer/thicknesser as well by hand. The hooks were planed by hand and cut on the table saw and miter saw. The notches were cut by hand, with a Japanese saw and a sharp chisel. I experimented a bit with each notch, and found I had the best results using the magnetic dovetail saw guide. Used a router to cut out notches on the back for 3m strips to mount it on the wall (alas, I rent). Glue is Titebond I, and the finish is Danish oil on the piece of sapele, and the Osmo Raw I’ve been using on my other projects on the ash.
