I think there’s so many cool things that could be made with this - from custom designs on rolling pins to etching glass bottles and much much more - but it seems like not many folk use it/know how to use it as it’s not in the induction.
Anyone fancy coming and giving it a go this friday afternoon, say start at 1pm? I’ve not used the attachment before but I’ve read the manual and it doesn’t look too difficult. Weekday daytime is best for me but if folk can only do evenings/weekends might be able to make one.
Be good to have an idea of interest/confirm someone w shutter access is about so I’m not left stuck in the park!
Currently planning on being in the space on friday PM. I have shutter access, so I can ensure you’re able to get in if you dm me a time you’re aiming for?
A word of warning - keep a ready hand on the Z-down button, or the lid. I have previously driven a pint glass into the cutting head by mistake while experimenting with the rotary attachment. Not sure what I did wrong, but I think the machine “forgot” the cutter was there and tried to move the bed up close to the head.
I can make it on Friday I have a fob for the shutter - haven’t used it in a long while but should work. I’ll try to bring some suitable material with me… Looking forward to it!
Somewhere in the space, there are some pint glasses and some tankards. I’m sure imaginative engraving on these for the amusement of the wider community would be fine
I’ve used it before but not going to make it Friday sadly, but if you have the manual I guess your set. There’s loads of quirks obviously, some dangerous as mentioned by Tom N. Let us know what you learn!
