How will everyone feel about creating calendar that list when someone want to use the 3D Printer.
This is just for organisational purposes only and mean if you want to use the 3D printer you create an event on the calendar that will inform other members when the machine will be busy.

@tomnewsom I saw your post on the discourse pluggin and it’s not clear if the calendar is editable or just readonly though
Our calendar is editable by a handful of people, but it’s not really intended for this sort of thing. It’s for regular/special events.
Seeing as usage will be low, I would have thought that this could be done on an ad-hoc basis for now (ie. create a thread titled “Will be using the 3D printer tonight”. Only create bureaucracy when it’s actually needed, if you see what I mean.
Sure I see what you mean. Will see how things evolve when usage become more regular
What we might try to encourage is a courtesy posting if planning long prints. No point turning up to print a washer when someone’s in the middle of a 4 hour Yoda-marathon.
BTW, Yoda-prints are prohibited?

Has anyone ever actually gone to 3D print something and found someone else was using it? I’ve yet to see it get used more than a handful of times?

Maybe I’m being over cautious but I feel like I need a bit more experience before I start inducting people.
Same way I feel about being a laser cutter inductor, really.
I’m happy to induct other members. I’ve mention in an other post that I will happy to induct 2 members a week on the tuesday, will shortly create the post regarding coming tuesday
Rory did induct me, but the 3d printer page did not make it clear that I could be inducted by him when I looked at it later.
