Was cutting on Saturday and noticed a permanent mark on the underside of the lens. I’m guessing from aggressive cleaning. @lasertechs
Seems to work fine, but definitely damaged.
My guess would be that someone found they’d gunked up the lens and attempted a DIY fix, resulting in actually scraping the lens clean – with inevitable results.
So it is actually cutting ok though? I saw that mark aswell its a little ‘smudge’, hopefully it isn’t anything too serious, and we can laser away!! Have a great day.
Hi Dermot, if the mark is some very small scratches, the mark was cause by me when testing the first 3D printed prototype lens holder.
It doesn’t affect the performance of the lens luckily. I will check it when next i’m in to confirm.
Reports are that the laser is cutting better since reverse mounting the lens than when we had it before.
Felt like it was different from when I’d used it a few days before – but you have to view it in a particular light, so possibly I missed it before.
