I need to warm a container up to 70°C for 4 hours, any idea?

Hello everyone,

For some crazy reasons I will not anticipate yet I need to keep the temperature of a container with some liquid inside for 4 hours at 70°C , I already found the controller :

but I need the heating element, I have no experience in this , anyone can help me with that?

So I’ve done this for sous vide cooking and used a slow cooker - they heat up fairly slowly but are already set up to handle fluids and have a good capacity.

The capacity you need will be key here. What sort of volume?

So, the idea is that I will have to fit different objects inside, from a keyboard key to an entire keyboard or small computers .

I guess the final design will impose the constraints

What is the fluid?

water and hydrogen peroxide.

Looks like you could plug a kettle straight into it. Or hack the heating element off the kettle if you need more volume.

I’ve also used a kettle but it heats up a bit fast so by the time your thermometer picks up the increase in temperature, you are about 3-4 degrees too high already

Sounds like a plan!

It’s ok , is not temperature critical

Agree - have also used a slow cooker for sous vide with a controller and they work great!

Fish tank heater . Its in glass so the proxide will not touch it

Two of these should be enough

That would heat 5 Litres of Dihydrogen Monoxide* up by 50 degrees in an hour, according to

volume in litres x 4 x temperature rise in degrees centigrade / 3412

(4 being a factor and 3412 being a given constant)

Sorry - didn’t see you might need a whole keyboard in there!!

This style of sous vide machine clips onto any container. I’d probably use something like this (cheaper from eBay) in a large ice box, heat up the liquid before hand to get it to a close temp and let it do the rest.
