South London Makerspace is proud to be taking part in the Second Annual Maker Raft Race.
@TomHedges has been driving this forward: looks like me and him are crewing the Space ©raft, with Toby and Eva as land crew.
However there’s still opportunities for other members to get involved: either by coming along and enjoying the day or getting stuck in with the preparations – or both.
We’re doing the prep at the Space over the next couple of evenings and will be up at the boat club when they open at 10 AM on Saturday to assemble the craft and try it out on/in water.
It should be a fun day with a wide variety of entries from workshops across London and beyond – expect everything from obsessive over-engineering to last-minute lash-togethers. There’ll be beer and BBQ in the mix too.
Tom, Toby and I believe we have a vessel that will ‘probably’ float, but there’s much more to do. I’ll make a WiKi of what we need/would like.
“Not a race to the bottom!”
