Cnc mill a possibility?

He says on the notes that the bearing are shot!

here’s his site: http://www.rc8wd.com/?page_id=80&lang=en

Though the original French version might suit you

Ok he completely swapped the lead screw + nut block assembly and added new bearings to get rid of backlash, that’s quite a big mod
Also put in a new gearbox for some reason. I think it might be because the speed control is unreliable on these machines, I found it would not operate properly from time to time.

i think the benefit of the belt drive is so you can use the machine both in manual mode and cnc .

with direct drive manual is impossible

Wall mounted with suction table? :joy:

MMMMMMM look what I have found!

video of it in operation on kickstarter
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1090944145/pocket-nc-the-first-5-axis-cnc-mill-for-your-deskt

the best part of this is it is a kickstarter project that actually delivered, and the reviews are good.

$4000 dollars id a push i know!! but i can only dream.

its got to be worth it just to make that v8 engine they make on the demo!

how about these

Now that is quite a beautiful looking thing.

I’d want to see it in action though - as well as get a good idea as to how asshatted the tool chain is.

Maybe we could offer to demonstrate it so their south London, Kent, Sussex and Surrey potential customers can come and see it working

I can’t see that long z axis column cutting through any hard materials without having a problem
at $5000 for 5-axis you’re probably going to get something really very basic

for the same price range tormachs PCNCs look much, much beefier

Links please
